Welcome to our May newsletter!

This month we are highlighting the 60th anniversary of The Festival of Britain. The festival, which opened in May 1951, was a much-needed boost for a nation still suffering the effects of the Second World War. The festival was a celebration of British art, design and industry.

Our collection features designers such as Terence Conran and Diana Armfield as well as extracts from the Festival of Britain Guide, a great source of 1950's adverts and press shots of King George and the Royal Family.

To see our highlights of the collection click here: Festival of Britain

We are also highlighting the 150th anniversary of William Morris & Co. Established in 1861 the company proved to be a great commercial success, with commissions from the Victoria and Albert Museum and St James Palace. The V&A hold a huge collection of William Morris designs, most of which are featured on our website. To see our showcase of the collection click here: Morris Showcase
